Replacing their favorite corkie or other steelhead and salmon-catching drift bobber!  They work great here on our local Big and Little Nestucca Rivers as well as anywhere else.

Soft Plastic “Baits”

Similar to beads... before the 80's... they weren't used here in the Hebo fishing area.  At times... similar to jigs... these “fishing worms” are hard to beat.

Under certain salmon and steelhead fishing conditions... flash and action will make a difference. 

Adjust the color, finish and size to the water you're fishing.  Swing or retrieve while adjusting the speed relative to the water temperature (mostly).

Spinner Tip

Nestucca (and other rivers) low, warm water lure fishing tips...


Low light, very early morning:  Small-medium blade, very little weight, matte silver blade, black body and hook tubing.  Incorporate glow white if possible.

Between early morning and full sun:  Small shiny or tarnished brass blade, very little weight, black and/or green adornments.

Full sun:  Black blade, black body and less green adornments than above.


Mix your shiny brass blades with coffee grounds to tarnish them  :-)

Hoochie (Squid) Skirt

We carry florescent (uv) and non-florescent GoldStar hoochie skirts.  I started adding these to my spinners for additional action. 

Fish your “squid with tentacles” hoochie in a variety of ways including trolling, casting and jigging for salmon and steelhead.

Rig up on a jig head, a plain hook (with or without beads and blades for extra hoochie action) or on a salmon trolling lure.  Add scent or bait to entice your predator.
